Morgan Plus Four: Nostalgia Reimagined

Seven decades after the original was produced, the all-new Morgan Plus Four has been brought into the 21st Century. Updated technologies have enhanced driving performance, while the timeless design features have remained intact. The elegant bodywork and unique wing profile carry on the original legacy of the Morgan Plus Four.

Steeped in tradition, the all new Morgan Plus for may look identical to its predecessor, but a new BMW 2.0-litre four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine lurks under the hood. It only takes 4.8 seconds to go from 0-62mph in the Automatic and 5.2 seconds in the Manual. Performance has not been compromised, when reimagining the all new Morgan Plus Four. With a top speed of 149mph, the Morgan Plus Four is fit for any adventure. Step back in time while speeding into the future as you zip along Guanella Pass.

 

Aesthetics have remained true to the Morgan Brand. However, the CX-Generation bonded aluminium chassis is far lighter and infinitely stiffer than steel. Debuted on the Morgan Plus Six at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the new CX-Generation chassis maintains very similar exterior dimensions, but enhanced interior space. Ash wood frame components still remain. In fact, the only part that remains the same on the new Morgan Plus Four is the catch on the bonnet. The brilliant Morgan engineers even overcame a design challenge of incorporating quintessential wire wheels to the double-wishbone suspension of the Plus Four (alloy wheels are also available).

The bonded aluminium platform of the CX-Generation chassis and all new BMW 2.0-litre four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine have provided a far more exciting and comfortable ride. In addition to no longer featuring a Ford engine, efficiency has been optimised: fuel economy remains similar, and CO2 output is significantly lower, than the outgoing model, despite a 65% increase in overall power and torque. Made of 97% brand new components, 21st century performance, comfort, and safety features adorn the Morgan Plus Four.

The design of the interior is a spectacular honoring of Morgan legacy, not to mention, is larger than its predecessor. This open-air, two-seater features an updated, futuristic interior that still has the retro quintessential Morgan feel. The manual transmission Plus Four is adorned with a sleek, leather clad shifter while the automatic option includes a standard BMW shifter. Standard features, not previously available and/or newly introduced include: central locking, a digital driver information display, LED puddle lights, and air conditioning.
