1975 Ferrari 365 GT/4 Berlinetta Boxer as shown in its factory Yellow (Giallo Fly) with Black (Pelle Nera) leather interior with Black inserts, powered by 380 bhp, 4,390 cc DOHC horizontally opposed 12-cylinder engine with four Weber twin-choke carburetors, through a five-speed manual gearbox, four-wheel independent suspension with unequal length A-arms, coil springs, and anti-roll bars, twin coil springs at the rear, and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes and a Wheelbase: 98.4 in. A recent engine out service, less than 20k miles from new, factory A/C and power windows, original color combination and matching numbers as documented by well-respected Swiss Ferrari historian Marcel Massini, Classiche eligibility, all make this example, highly desirable.   Completed on May 26, 1975 from the Ferrari factory, the original owner took delivery just a few days later on June 4, 1975 through Scapini & Bruttomesso and registered in Milan.  31 years later the car was sold to the 2nd owner on record where it was appreciated, and serviced by Ferrari dealer Garage Zenith SA in Sion, Switzerland.   In November 2015, the car was bound for the U.S. to its 3rd owner and well-established Ferrari collector.  During this, the latest ownership, the car received a complete engine out major service with some additional mechanicals and very light cosmetic touch ups.  Once finished, the car was ready for show, and it did.  Winner, “BEST IN SHOW!”  Manhasset Concours d’Elegance, as well as welcomed entrant for Cavallino.  Covering very little miles since, the car is in exceptional condition, and as it left the shows.   Ferrari’s stunning 365GT/4 BB debuted at Turin in 1971.  It was the company’s first road going model with a mic mounted, flat 12-cylinder engine, which was subsequently nicknamed the “Boxer”, for its opposing pistons.  The exotic design was derived from the company’s three liter Formula One car, and it took two years to bring into production.  The 365 BB was eventually released in late 1973 with the majority of cars leaving the factory in 1974; a total of 387(299 LHD) were built in the following three years before the car evolved to the 512 BB.    However, the 365 remains the original, lightest most powerful and rarest of all the Boxer models, instantly recognizable due to its triple rear lights and ‘pea shooter’ exhaust tips. Road & Track hit 175 mph in one during a road test in 1975, allowing it to dub the original Boxer “the fastest road car we’ve ever tested.”   These factors entail that the 365 GT/4 BB is the most valuable and sought after of the entire Boxer family and with the addition of the BBs being the last truly hand-built Ferraris, values look to hold strong in the coming years.   With confidence, the car is being sold with Original books, keys, factory tool roll (complete).  For  viewing, feel free to contact one of our Algar Ferrari brand specialists.
